My number one passion and dedication in life is House Music, in all its forms and shapes.
I also own a mixer and two cd-players (a Dateq XTC and two CDJ-100S').
To find out more about how this passion developed and progressed over the years, read on!
The roots of the addiction
When I was around 10/11 years old, I developed an interest for music with beats and rhythms. Maybe I'm a little influenced by my older brother who was also into the housemusic that time (and still is, only less obsessive than me :)). However, I have no doubt its something in my genes, or maybe I lived in a tribe deep in the jungle in one of my past lifes :)

The 538 Partynight
In my teenage years, when I wasn't going out to clubs yet, there was always a radioshow on saturdaynight. Around 7 PM it started, up till 12 PM. And after that, 7(!) hours packed with live sets from clubs in Holland. It was broadcasted on radio 538 and it was called '538 Partynight'. I always listened to it, armed with a pile of cassettes, ready to record a set when it was cool.
In this time I began dreaming about how it would be like to mix housemusic myself. Being a young teenager, I didn't have a lot of money to purchase mixing gear, so I had to do something else.
Fast Tracker 2
In that time, I've been producing music with a shareware program called 'Fast Tracker 2' for a couple of years. It was incredible easy to use, once you got the hang of it. Most of the time I would make 'loops' with all the beats, hi-hats and melodies in it, and then build up and down the track myself 'live'. I rarely actually build tracks all the way, but I managed to finish some that time.

The dawn of a DJ
In the lovely year 2002 I purchased my DJ-gear, and I'm still playing with it without any hardware problems all the years I've been playing with it (except for the headphones).
And boy... I LOVE IT! It was a quite expensive purchase, to say the least, but it was worth every dime I saved for it. I'm always trying to improve myself, and I really enjoy mixing music.

My motivation (and an opinion)
I've ocassionally played at contests and played for a crowd, but thats not my main drive, to make money with it or to impress people. I do it for the love I have for the genre, and thats also one of the reasons I don't play commercial trance or dance-music (besides the fact that I really can't listen to it without going mentally insane). When I hear some of them badly produced tracks, I can almost see the dollarsigns in the eyes of the producers, so to speak.
I always wonder how they even DARE to release the stuff on vinyl or CD. For example 'gigi d'agostino' or 'special d' ((yes, there are no capitals used for their names, they don't deserve 'm).
Exploring the unknown
Well, I rambled long enough now!

I'm confident enough to say I have a pretty extended knowledge of computers, and I like to help people out with the use of computers.
You could call it hobby of mine, and it probably is. This short article explains how it all came to be.
My dad's C64
On a young age I got into computers because my dad bought a Commodore-64 pretty soon after they hit the market in the Netherlands.

Programming on the PC
On the PC, I programmed for quite some time in Quickbasic, but nothing really fruitful was created, most of it were tests and programs to make things move on their own, and I experimented a lot with adding randomness to almost everything I made.
The sky's the limit
However I never actually finished anything, all the tweaking in BASIC taught me the basics of thinking logically. It still fascinates me that with knowledge, time, creativity and programming skills you can create anything on the computer, and the only limit is your imagination.

Summing it up
Over the course of many years my knowledge has expanded on the use of computers, installing software on computers, assembling computers from skratch, and helping other people out with their computers and Internet.
